Housekeeper

Chesterman 3 is a Cardiothoracic surgical ward.

It is an exciting opportunity to really make a difference on a ward and contribute to providing a friendly, clean, safe and comfortable environment for the patients and ward staff.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and an ability to work within a team but also use own initiative.

• Care and cleaning of equipment.
• Cleaning and making beds.
• Assist patients with meal choice.
• Assist with the setting of tables, serving of meals, clearing crockery during patient meal times.
• Assist the patient with their meal.
• Cleaning and tidying patient’s lockers and bed areas and preparation for admission.
• Supporting patients waiting for discharge.
• Ensure that the clinical areas and staff/patients servers are restocked on a regular basis and are clean and tidy.
• Check and report faulty beds, bed lights and patient handsets.
• Undertake errands, where appropriate, as directed by the nurse in charge.
• Check, order and put away stores, monitor stock levels.
• Carry out all duties safely and responsibly, showing awareness of Health and Safety policies, food hygiene and COSHH regulations.
