Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 2 Housekeeper to join Ward 38 at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

The role of the Housekeeper will be to ensure that all consumables are ordered, stored, and available for all staff within all areas of the ward. The role will require the individual to support with assisting staff with cleaning the patient’s environment. The role requires the individual to be competent with computers, ordering processes, and some administrative duties.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing patient experiences. We seek individuals who are compassionate and capable of delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a challenging environment.

Main Duties of the Job

  • To be responsible for ensuring adequate stocks of consumables are maintained to meet service requirements and that all equipment within the department is clean and in good working order.
  • To assist in the transfer of patients and equipment.
  • The post holder will provide non-clinical support to the ward team carrying out tasks assigned to the individual under the supervision of nurses.
  • The essence of the role is to assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment for patients and staff, to support the nutritional needs of patients by supporting the ordering and delivery of catering supplies and meals, and to ensure that stocks and supplies are kept at adequate levels within the ward environment.
