Job Description

Housemaid (Live-Out) | Private Residence | London, UK

Position Summary

A private principal based in London is seeking an experienced and professional Housemaid to support the smooth running of their residence. This is a live-out position operating on split shifts. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of housekeeping, assisting with laundry and wardrobe care, and preparing basic home-style meals.

Working Hours

  • Split Shift Schedule:
    • Morning: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
    • Evening: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
  • Total: 7 hours per day
  • Flexibility may occasionally be required based on the principal's schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping

  • Daily cleaning and upkeep of the apartment to a high standard.
  • Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Ensuring all rooms, bathrooms, and common areas remain clean and organized.
  • Managing household supplies and notifying when replenishment is required.

Laundry & Wardrobe Care

  • Washing, ironing, steaming, folding, and storing clothing and linens.
  • Caring for delicate fabrics and luxury garments.
  • Organizing wardrobes, closets, and storage areas.
  • Changing bed linens and maintaining household textiles.

Basic Cooking

  • Preparing simple, healthy home-style meals as directed by the principal.
  • Basic food preparation and kitchen maintenance.
  • Ensuring kitchen cleanliness and proper food storage.

Household Management

  • Maintaining a neat and organized living environment.
  • Running household errands when required.
  • Reporting maintenance issues or household concerns promptly.
  • Working independently while respecting the privacy and confidentiality of the principal.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Housemaid, Housekeeper, or Domestic Assistant in a private household.
  • Strong housekeeping and laundry skills.
  • Basic cooking abilities with knowledge of simple meal preparation.
  • High attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Trustworthy, discreet, and professional.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for UHNW/HNW families or principals.
  • Knowledge of garment care and wardrobe management.
  • Flexibility to accommodate occasional changes in schedule.
