Housekeeping Assistant (Part Time)
Location: Copper Beech Care Home, Eastbourne Road, Ridgewood, Uckfield TN22 5ST
Contract & Rate
- Hours: 18 hours per week
- Shift Times: 7:30am – 1:30pm or 8am – 2pm
- Hourly Rate: £12.80 – £13.80 per hour (depending on experience)

As a Housekeeping Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a warm, welcoming, and hygienc environment for our residents with:
- Proactive cleaning & upkeep of communal areas, bedrooms, and facilities
- High standards of cleanliness within public and private spaces
- Stock management and reporting any issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor
- A commitment to a multi-tasking, organised, and resident-focused approach
Key Responsibilities
You’ll help make health happen by:
- Ensuring routine cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, mopping, polishing, and dusting
- Maintaining a tidy appearance in all resident rooms and communal areas
- Stocking and replenishing housekeeping supplies on a daily basis
- Reporting any equipment, safety, or cleanliness concerns promptly
- Collaborating with other staff to ensure a cohesive, pleasant environment for residents

Person Specification
Key Skills & Qualifications
✔ A keen eye for detail and a deep commitment to excellence ✔ Ability to multitask efficiently while prioritising resident needs ✔ A friendly disposition (essential!) ✔ Befriending even the most challenging tidying tasks with enthusiasm ✔ Ready to work flexibly, sometimes alongside other department teams
Nice to Have (or Experience)
🔹 Hands-on experience in care homes, hotels, or similar settings 🔹 Experience in orderliness, deep cleaning, or inventory management
