Job Description: Housekeeping Assistant

Location: Cottenham Court Care Home, High Street, Cottenham, Cambridge, CB24 8SS

Contract: Permanent – Full Time

Hours: 30 hours per week – 8am to 2pm, 5 days per week, including alternate weekends

Salary: £13.30 - £14.30 per hour depending on experience

About Cottenham Court:

Cottenham Court provides tailored care solutions for nursing, residential, and short stay care, as well as care and support for those living with Parkinson’s or Multiple Sclerosis. They’re there when you and your loved ones need them most. The home is situated in the picturesque village of Cottenham and has been designed to meet the challenges of care, providing residents with a versatile living environment. Features include en-suite bedrooms, an activities room, a conservatory, and Sky television. Residents can enjoy the enclosed paved garden and the sensory herb garden. Nutritious meals are served, and the home ensures there are always drinks and light snacks available. The community spirit is fostered through activities such as gardening, exercise classes, crafts, local theatre group visits, and Pets as Therapy.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness within the home.
  • Work closely with housekeeping and maintenance staff.
  • Ensure residents are kept happy by vacuuming, mopping floors, polishing, and maintaining communal areas and residents' bedrooms.
  • Maintain housekeeping stocks for day-to-day use and raise any issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor as needed.

Key Skills / Qualifications:

  • Take pride in ensuring work is always completed to a high standard.
  • Maintain an organized environment.
  • Comfortable multitasking and working with other teams to ensure residents are kept happy in their home.
