The Manor Elstree is a historic Tudor-style mansion set on the grounds of an original Tudor house dating back to 1540. Located in the Hertfordshire countryside, the property is surrounded by 10 acres of landscaped gardens and natural woodland. The hotel offers guests a tranquil, characterful setting while being just 25 minutes by train from Central London. Team members work in a unique environment that combines heritage features with modern hospitality services, attracting both leisure and business guests.
Role Description
The Housekeeping Attendant is a full-time, on-site role based at The Manor Elstree in Elstree. This role is responsible for cleaning and servicing guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas to high standards, including making beds, replenishing amenities, dusting, vacuuming, and maintaining hygiene. The Housekeeping Attendant will handle laundry tasks such as collecting, sorting, and returning linens, as well as reporting maintenance issues and lost property promptly. The role involves following health and safety procedures, using cleaning equipment correctly, and working efficiently to meet daily room and area targets. The Housekeeping Attendant will collaborate with the wider hotel team, respond to guest requests professionally, and help maintain a welcoming, well-presented environment throughout the property.

- Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning within hotels, hospitality, or similar environments is preferred, but applications from candidates with transferable experience are welcome.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards, including the ability to follow checklists and room specifications.
- Good time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple rooms or tasks, work to schedules, and meet productivity targets.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a positive, respectful attitude toward colleagues, guests, and supervisors.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting light to moderate loads, bending, and using cleaning equipment safely.
- Basic communication skills in English to understand instructions, safety guidelines, and interact with guests in a courteous manner.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, in line with hotel occupancy and operational needs.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn relevant health and safety, COSHH, and infection-control practices in a hospitality setting.
