Contract: Full Time - Perm

Hour: 37 hours per week

Pay: £14.39 per hour weekdays & £14.89 per hour weekends

Shift: 9am – 5pm - Weekday and alternative Weekends

Location: Providence Way, Baldock, SG7 6TT

We are seeking a Housekeeping Manager to join our welcoming team at Providence Court Care Home in Baldock. A charming historic market town with excellent local amenities, transport links and a strong community feel, offering residents the perfect blend of convenience and countryside living.

As a Housekeeping Manager you will maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home, ensuring residents are safe, comfortable and have a welcoming tidy environment, through compassionate and person-centred approach to supporting resident’s wellbeing.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading staff, managing rotas, motivating teams, and ensuring high standards of performance.
  • Extensive housekeeping expertise, including developing cleaning schedules, using industrial cleaning equipment, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a proven ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and handle complaints professionally and effectively.
  • Compassionate, resident-focused approach, promoting privacy, dignity, respect, and effective communication, including supporting residents living with dementia and older people.
  • Reliable and professional work ethic, with strong IT, record-keeping, stock control and budgeting skills, combined with integrity, confidentiality, flexibility, and a commitment to ongoing training and development.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the housekeeping operation in the home including supervising the team of housekeepers to ensure our home provides a warm and inviting atmosphere.
  • Working as part of an integrated care team, you’ll help create caring environment, where our resident's dignity is never compromised and their independence is encouraged.
  • To ensure compliance with COSHH Regulations. Maintain company COSHH manuals
  • To maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the home, in accordance with the guidelines on the use of cleaning materials and equipment
  • To organise & participate in staff meetings, training and development and staff reviews
  • To manage the house keeping budget and produce bi-monthly stock takes. Agree action to be taken in the event of an overspend
  • To supervise and/or undertake basic housekeeping tasks throughout the home, including laundry. Monitor all areas to ensure they are kept in a hygienic condition
