Role Overview
The role is accountable for interpretations of legal and national housekeeping policies and interpreting this into a deliverable operational practice that ensures GSTT sites are compliant.
Responsibilities
- The post holder will lead the implementation of the housekeeping strategy, providing expert advice to deliver operational services. It does this in partnership with internal stakeholders, e.g., clinical groups and delivery groups, alongside external stakeholders and other stakeholders relevant to individual sites and all GSTT locations.
- The successful candidate will possess a high level of leadership expertise, alongside the ability to lead housekeeping functions to deliver operational excellence.
- In line with the NHS Management and Leadership Framework and Code of Practice, the post holder will demonstrate compassionate, inclusive, and accountable leadership, model GSTT values, and create psychologically safe environments in which staff can speak up, learn, and improve.
- The post holder will use service, workforce, and quality insight to identify and reduce inequity, support anti-racist practice, and improve fairness, belonging, and outcomes for staff, patients, and service users, including people from marginalized groups.
- Implementation of the housekeeping standards and operating procedures for housekeeping and rapid response provision across the entire GSTT estate.
- Lead a site-based leadership team who oversee nearly 700 staff in the provision of housekeeping and rapid response services across the GSTT estate.
- Deliver operational performance (financial and non-financial) targets against agreed service standards, including compliance with Financial & Procurement Regulations.
- Continuously monitor and review services; identify and implement service, operational, and financial improvements to deliver within allocated budgets, improving value for money, including being responsive to changing business needs.
- Leadership Standards (Aligned to NHS Management and Leadership Framework) - Lead with compassion, integrity, and accountability, making clear, fair, and timely decisions and taking responsibility for outcomes.
