Job Description

Location: Newton Road

We are looking for a hardworking and detail-focused Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at Bath Mill Lodge Retreat, one of Darwin Escapes' beautiful countryside destinations in Somerset.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards and enjoys ensuring every lodge is perfectly prepared for our guests. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you'll play a key role in inspecting accommodation, supporting the Housekeeping team, and helping to deliver an outstanding guest experience.

This is a hands-on and varied role, ideal for someone with previous housekeeping experience who has a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for quality.

This position offers 30 hours per week, working on a rota basis across variable days, including weekends and bank holidays as required.

Applicants must be aged 18 or over and hold a full, valid UK driving licence. Due to the nature of the role and the need to travel across the resort to inspect accommodation, candidates must be able to drive.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect lodges and accommodation after cleaning to ensure they meet Darwin Escapes' high standards.
  • Carry out quality checks, identifying and reporting any cleaning issues that require attention.
  • Ensure all accommodation is clean, tidy and presented to an exceptional standard before guest arrival.
  • Check that inventory items, furnishings and equipment are present, clean and in good condition.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages or missing items promptly.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the Housekeeping team to help maintain consistently high standards.
  • Assist with cleaning duties where required during busy periods.
  • Complete housekeeping check records accurately and in line with company procedures.
  • Follow all health & safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure accommodation is guest-ready.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Previous housekeeping experience, ideally within hospitality, leisure or holiday accommodation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, reliable and flexible approach to work.
  • Good communication skills and confidence to provide constructive feedback.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence.
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a Housekeeping Checker, Supervisor or Team Leader.
  • Experience carrying out accommodation quality inspections.
  • Knowledge of health & safety and COSHH procedures.
  • Experience identifying and reporting maintenance issues.
  • Experience using digital checklists or housekeeping management systems.
