Housekeeping Supervisor

Salary: £27,182.66 - £28,461.14
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 39 hours per week

Live-in accommodation may be available for exceptional candidates.

This role is based on-site at Langdale Hotel and Spa, Ambleside, LA22 9JD.

Role Summary

Join our team as an Estate Housekeeping Supervisor and play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will lead and support our housekeeping team, ensuring our hotels, lodges and communal areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety.

Working closely with other departments, you'll help coordinate daily operations, train and develop staff, manage schedules and supplies, and perform checks to ensure every guest enjoys a welcoming and comfortable stay. This is a great opportunity for an organised, hands-on supervisor who takes pride in maintaining high standards and motivating a team to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the housekeeping team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel rooms, lodges and communal areas to ensure they meet our cleanliness and maintenance standards. Address any issues promptly.
  • Assist in training housekeeping team members to maintain high standards of service and safety.
  • Help create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring timely replenishment and proper usage.
  • Address guest inquiries and concerns related to housekeeping services in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Housekeeping management team and other departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Deputising in the absence of colleagues and being a responsible point of contact for the department.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in a housekeeping role, preferably in a hospitality or similar environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to housekeeping.
