Shape a home away from home and make a lasting difference to the lives of young girls!
This is an exceptional opportunity for an inspiring teacher with a strong pastoral focus to join Wycombe Abbey as Housemistress (Shelburne) on a maternity cover contract. Taking full responsibility for the girls within the House, you will create a warm, supportive and vibrant boarding environment where every pupil feels valued, encouraged and able to flourish. You will lead an established team, build strong relationships with parents and staff and play a central role in the pastoral, academic and personal development of each girl.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding communicator with a passion for pastoral care, strong leadership skills and a commitment to educational excellence. You will oversee the wellbeing, progress and safeguarding of pupils, support academic achievement and foster a positive House culture that promotes confidence, resilience and a strong sense of community.
This residential role includes four-bedroom accommodation within the House, with bills and meals provided during term time. In return, you will join a thriving boarding community that values trust, encouragement, innovation and mutual respect, while making a profound impact on the lives of talented young people.
Wycombe Abbey is a world-class full-boarding school for girls, located on a beautiful site in the centre of High Wycombe. With its distinctive heritage, magnificent 170-acre campus and impressive resources, the School provides an outstanding education for 650 pupils aged 11-18.
