Undertake a Housing & Property Management Assistant Apprenticeship
While providing administrative support to help create and sustain successful tenancies, delivering excellent customer service and developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for a career in housing management.
What you'll do at work
- Undertake a structured Housing & Property Management Assistant Apprenticeship programme and complete all required learning, training activities and assessments.
- Provide administrative support to the Housing Management team, maintaining accurate records and updating housing management systems.
- Assist with the creation and sustainment of successful tenancies, supporting a range of housing management activities.
- Respond to customer enquiries, complaints and service requests, delivering a professional and customer-focused service.
- Support customer engagement activities, including surveys, consultations and feedback exercises to help improve services.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with housing legislation, Council policies, data protection requirements and regulatory standards.
- Develop knowledge of housing management functions including lettings, allocations, tenancy sustainment, homelessness prevention, repairs, income collection and community engagement.
- Support vulnerable customers by signposting or referring them to appropriate internal services and partner agencies under supervision.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives through data analysis, feedback gathering and performance monitoring activities.
- Work in accordance with the Council's equality, diversity, safeguarding, customer care and health and safety policies.

Course contents
- Customer Service: Apply a range of customer service skills in order to provide a professional, accurate, timely, ethical and non-judgemental front line service which meets the needs of a diverse range of customers and stakeholders
- Communication: Demonstrate appropriate communication skills to enable timely identification and/or resolution of issues for customers and appropriate signposting to other colleagues and/or partner agencies.
- Collaborative working: Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to achieve individual, team and business targets.
- Respond to vulnerability: Use skill and judgment to understand the needs of vulnerable individuals and groups (including those with complex needs) and respond appropriately
- Information collection and sharing: Use a variety of methods to identify, collect and communicate technical and other information in a confident and effective manner.
- Influencing and negotiating skills: Influence and negotiate with customers, partners and suppliers.
- Self Management: Organise and plan their own work to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines met.
- Problem Solving: Use a problem solving and flexible approach in their day to day duties.
- Tools and Equipment: Effective use of IT equipment and software, through administration and the appropriate use of work equipment
- Decision making: Effective decision making in order to apply the businesses objectives and priorities.

GCSE in:
- English (grade 4/C)
- Maths (grade 4/C)

After this apprenticeship
Your earnings can increase over time with an apprenticeship. It is expected that the apprentice would aim to progress to an officer role in neighbour management or housing needs assessments. It is hoped that the apprentice would want to progress to a level 3 CIH accredited course as part of their career progression.
