Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As a Housing Apprentice, you'll assist the neighbourhoods team, in the day-to-day management of tenancies. It's a varied role that offers hands-on experience across the various aspects of housing management.
- Support the delivery of tenancy management, neighbourhood services, customer support and tenancy sustainment activities across the Neighbourhoods Team.
- Assist Neighbourhood and Priority Support Officers to manage tenancies, maintain neighbourhood standards and help customers sustain successful tenancies.
- Accompany colleagues on tenancy visits, estate inspections, compliance visits and neighbourhood walkabouts, learning how to assess property conditions and tenancy standards.
- Support the identification of tenancy breaches, vulnerabilities, safeguarding concerns and support needs, escalating issues to the appropriate colleague when required.
- Assist with customer enquiries and referrals, signposting customers to relevant internal and external support services.
- Develop knowledge of housing-related issues including tenancy sustainment, welfare support, safeguarding and domestic abuse, and their impact on customers and communities.
- Support administrative activities including arranging appointments, preparing correspondence and maintaining accurate records using housing management and CRM systems.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, partner agencies and local services to support positive outcomes for customers and communities.
- Use digital systems, customer insight and data to support service delivery, while actively participating in apprenticeship learning, training and coursework requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
