Housing / Buildings Contracts Manager (Temp)

As a Housing / Buildings Contracts Manager (Temp) based in the Scottish Borders - you'll oversee contract management and ensure projects are delivered efficiently within the not-for-profit sector. This temporary role will play a key part in supporting the organisation's operations and maintaining high standards.

A not-for-profit organisation located in the Scottish Borders.

Description

The role will involve:

  • Overseeing contractor performance
  • Monitoring progress on site
  • Carrying out quality checks and inspections
  • Managing handovers
  • Maintaining accurate project records
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, including CDM regulations

The Contracts Manager will liaise with contractors, tenants, internal teams, and other stakeholders to resolve issues promptly, maintain effective communication throughout the tenant journey, and support high levels of customer care.

Profile

The successful candidate should have:

  • Strong housing or property services experience
  • Practical knowledge of contract management, planned works delivery, health and safety, technical specifications, budget control, and performance reporting
  • Education to HND level or equivalent in a relevant technical/building discipline, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience
  • A relevant professional qualification or membership, such as RICS, RIAS, or CIOB, would be desirable
  • Confidence managing contractors, analysing technical information, maintaining documentation, using Microsoft Office/Teams, and working collaboratively to deliver value for money and positive outcomes for tenants
