Housing Maintenance Officer

As a Housing Maintenance Officer in the Scottish Borders, you'll oversee the day-to-day organisation of property maintenance tasks, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. This role in the not-for-profit sector plays a key part in making sure housing standards are met and maintained.

Description

  • Coordinate and manage property maintenance schedules and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all housing units.
  • Organise contractors and monitor their work to meet agreed standards.
  • Handle maintenance-related enquiries from tenants promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and budgets.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth communication and service delivery.
  • Assist in reporting and auditing maintenance operations as required.

Profile

A successful Housing Maintenance Officer should have:

  • Perhaps an ex trades person - joiner, painter etc.
  • Experience in property maintenance or housing management roles.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to housing.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with tenants and contractors.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and using relevant software.
