Who We Are:

SIFA Fireside is a Birmingham-based charity supporting people experiencing homelessness and those in vulnerable housing situations to achieve lasting change. The organisation operates a Support Centre that is open five days a week, offering emergency assistance, practical help, and health and wellbeing guidance. SIFA Fireside works with some of the city’s most marginalised adults, many of whom have multiple and complex needs, by providing both individual and group support in a trusted environment.

At the Support Centre, people can access food, showers, clothing, and accommodation advice, and are supported to engage with wider services, build skills, and gain confidence to move toward a more stable and settled lifestyle.

Overall Purpose of Job Role:

The Housing Navigator role works in partnership with SIFA’s Homeless Intervention Team and Birmingham City Council’s Housing Directorate to ensure that individuals coming to SIFA in need of housing are provided with the necessary support and guidance to engage with the Local Authority and access safe, sustainable accommodation that adequately meets their needs. A key focus of the role is to support individuals in addressing the barriers that may otherwise prevent them from accessing such accommodation.

The post holder will also ensure that individuals accessing accommodation are signposted to other relevant services that may enable them to sustain their tenancies. The post holder will be a strong communicator who can engage with partner agencies and other SIFA services to ensure those accessing the space receive the correct assistance. The Navigator reports to the Service Lead and plays an essential role in the operational delivery of SIFA Fireside’s vision.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
