Company Description

CAREY GARDENS COOPERATIVE LIMITED is a Resident's Management Organisation (RMO) responsible for the housing management and maintenance of properties on the Carey Gardens Estate. The estate is home to a diverse and vibrant community located in the heart of Nine Elms, Battersea. The cooperative works closely with residents to provide safe, well-maintained homes and responsive local services. Team members are encouraged to engage directly with residents and contribute to a positive, inclusive living environment.

Role Description

The Housing Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in London, responsible for the day-to-day management of tenancies and housing services on the Carey Gardens Estate.

  • Handling tenancy queries
  • Conducting estate inspections
  • Ensuring properties are maintained to agreed standards
  • Managing and responding to reports of anti-social behaviour
  • Working with residents to address concerns
  • Supporting individuals to sustain their tenancies
  • Liaising with contractors and external agencies
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Preparing reports and correspondence

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Tenancy Management and Housing Management to effectively oversee tenancies, property conditions, and estate services.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing Anti-social Behaviour, including investigation, resolution, and partnership working with relevant agencies.
  • Excellent Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to engage confidently with diverse residents and stakeholders.
  • Experience or understanding of Supportive Housing, including supporting residents to sustain tenancies and access appropriate services.
  • Relevant skills such as problem-solving, conflict resolution, and record-keeping, along with competence in basic IT systems and housing databases, are beneficial.
  • Prior experience in social housing, community-based roles, or estate management, and a relevant qualification in housing, social work, or a related field, is an advantage.
