Aspire Supported Living CIC is a Birmingham-based non-profit organization dedicated to housing people who are homeless or otherwise vulnerable. The team works on the front line, around the clock, to provide safe and stable accommodation for individuals in urgent need. Aspire collaborates with local services and community partners to identify those at risk and offer practical, person-centered support. Role Description
The Housing Officer is a full-time hybrid role based in Birmingham, with a mix of on-site visits and some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Managing tenancies
- Supporting residents in supported housing
- Addressing anti-social behaviour issues
- Ensuring that housing management practices are compliant with relevant policies and procedures

The role involves:

- Conducting property inspections
- Maintaining accurate records
- Liaising with external agencies
- Responding promptly to tenant queries and concerns
The Housing Officer will work closely with colleagues to:
- Identify people who are homeless or at risk
- Facilitate referrals into appropriate accommodation
- Help residents sustain their tenancies through ongoing support and guidance
Qualifications
- Strong tenancy and housing management skills, including experience with Tenancy Management and Housing Management.
- Knowledge of managing Anti-social Behaviour, with the ability to assess risk and implement appropriate interventions.
- Experience in Supportive Housing, including working with vulnerable or homeless individuals in a person-centered way.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to build trust, explain information clearly, and liaise with partner agencies.
- Relevant experience in social housing, homelessness services, or community support; a related qualification (e.g., housing, social care, or community work) is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently, manage a varied caseload, and use digital tools for record-keeping and remote work.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to equality, diversity, and non-discriminatory practice.
