Housing Officer

£24 – £26 per hour (umbrella)

36.25 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Salford, Greater Manchester

We are seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join a housing association based in Salford on a temporary contract with possible extension. This role requires a proactive individual to manage a patch of properties in Greater Manchester, delivering a high-quality tenancy and estate management service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a designated geographical patch of properties, acting as the custodian of your patch ‘owning’ and seeking resolution of customer and community concerns
  • Carry out estate and block inspections, ensuring communal areas are safe, clean, and well maintained
  • Deal with low-level anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse and harassment cases, tenancy breaches, and neighbour disputes
  • Support tenants through tenancy changes, visits, mutual exchanges, succession and assignment, left in occupancy, sign-ups and tenancy sustainment interventions
  • Respond to tenant queries and complaints, providing advice, support, and practical solutions
  • Investigate tenancy fraud cases
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and partner agencies to resolve issues and improve neighbourhoods

  • Previous experience in housing, tenancy and estate management within social housing (essential)
  • Experience managing high rise and sheltered properties (preferred)
  • Good knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management, and ASB processes
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload across a large property patch
