About The Role
Are you an experienced housing professional with a passion for preventing homelessness and supporting people to secure safe and suitable accommodation? Do you have the leadership skills to motivate and develop a high-performing team in a fast-paced and rewarding environment?
We are looking for a Housing Options Team Leader (Accommodation) to lead our temporary accommodation service and play a key role in delivering high-quality homelessness services. You will be responsible for managing and developing a team, ensuring statutory homelessness duties are met, overseeing the provision of suitable temporary accommodation, and driving service improvements that deliver excellent outcomes for residents.
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and resilient leader with detailed knowledge of homelessness legislation and suitability requirements, excellent people management skills, and a commitment to delivering customer-focused services. You will work closely with colleagues across Housing Services, support complex decision-making, manage performance, and help shape the future development of the service.
We are looking for someone with:
- experience of managing and developing a busy team
- strong knowledge of homelessness legislation, case law and statutory duties
- excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- experience of working to challenging targets and deadlines
- a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering outstanding customer service

Crawley is a great place to work, with a thriving business district and excellent transport connections including nearby Gatwick Airport. We are based in our modern Town Hall which opened in 2023 and is located a short walk from the town centre and railway station.
Additional information
- This role participates in the delivery of our out of hours telephone service on a rota basis on standby category B at a fixed £1,039.95 per annum
- A Baseline Personnel Security Standard check is required as part of this role, and that will also entail the successful applicant undertaking a Basic DBS Check.
- A full clean UK driving licence will be an advantage.
- Casual car user
