Role of the Paralegal

The role of the Paralegal will be to assist fee earners within the Housing team, who specialise in disrepair, homelessness, possession cases and judicial reviews. The role will involve building up a caseload, drafting statements, meeting clients to take statements, preparing routine letters, gathering evidence and advising vulnerable clients.

Operating from a central London premises, HJA has a national reputation and will provide a varied and challenging workload.

Requirements

  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience as a paralegal or in a related legal support role
  • Knowledge of legal aid funding in the context of housing law
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple cases effectively
  • Strong analytical and research skills
