Housing Procurement Officer – London & Surrey

£35,000–£40,000 basic salary | £55,000+ OTE | Uncapped commission

Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm

London SE1 office base, with regular field-based appointments

2 positions available across separate territories

I am partnering with an established, independently owned property and housing business to appoint two commercially driven Housing Procurement Officers as part of its continued expansion across London and Surrey.

With more than three decades of experience across residential property, investment, development and property management, the wider group has built an established platform alongside a specialist housing operation working with local authorities, registered housing providers and private landlords.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious lettings professional looking to move beyond the traditional agency environment, take ownership of a sizeable geographical patch and build long-term relationships with landlords while retaining a highly commercial, commission-driven role.

The Opportunity

Two positions are available, each taking responsibility for a defined territory:

Territory 1 – West & Southwest London Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Acton, Chiswick, Harlesden, Isleworth, Richmond, Twickenham, Teddington and Kingston.

Territory 2 – Surrey & South London Elmbridge, Sutton, Mole Valley, Kingston and Croydon.

Your core responsibility will be to identify, approach and secure new private landlord instructions, procuring suitable residential properties for local authority and housing provider accommodation schemes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a genuine new business position. You will be expected to create opportunities through proactive landlord engagement, networking, referrals, local market activity and direct outreach rather than relying solely on inbound enquiries.

The Role

Proactively identify and secure new private landlord instructions across your designated territory. Build relationships with landlords, portfolio owners, estate agents and other local property professionals. Conduct rental valuations, property visits and suitability assessments. Present the organisation’s housing and property management proposition professionally to prospective landlords. Negotiate commercial terms and secure signed agreements. Develop a strong pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals and field-based activity. Manage opportunities from initial conversation through to completed instruction. Maintain accurate CRM records, compliance documentation and pipeline reporting. Develop a strong understanding of your local market and identify new areas of commercial opportunity.

The Person

This role would suit an experienced Lettings Valuer, Lister, Senior Lettings Negotiator, Landlord Acquisition Manager or Housing Procurement Officer with a strong track record of winning new business.

You will ideally have experience within a professional lettings, estate agency or property services environment and be confident generating your own opportunities.

You should be:

  • Highly proactive and commercially minded.
  • Confident approaching landlords and generating business from scratch.
  • An accomplished negotiator capable of converting opportunities into instructions.
  • Comfortable conducting valuations and presenting to property owners.
  • Organised and capable of managing a large geographical territory independently.
  • Professional, credible and relationship-led in your approach.
  • Motivated by both individual performance and uncapped earning potential.
  • Strong knowledge of either West London or Surrey / South London would be particularly advantageous.

Remuneration

£35,000–£40,000 basic salary, depending on experience.

OTE of £55,000+, with an uncapped commission structure rewarding both the volume and profitability of completed instructions.

The business offers a Monday-to-Friday working week, substantial autonomy across your territory and genuine progression opportunities as its housing operation continues to expand.

For an experienced lettings professional who enjoys winning instructions, building landlord relationships and developing a territory, this represents an excellent opportunity to move into the growing housing procurement market without losing the commercial elements that make agency rewarding.
