Job Opportunity at CYC's Howe Hill for Young People
We have an exciting job opportunity for an employment position within CYC's young persons supported accommodation scheme, Howe Hill for Young People (HH4YP) which is part of the CYC Housing Options and Support Service. We are looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic person to provide high-quality Housing, Resettlement, and Education Support to customers living in Howe Hill for Young People.
About HH4YP
HH4YP is a resettlement supported accommodation service for young people aged 16-25 providing accommodation, support, and education work with a view to helping people gain the necessary skills to move on into more independent accommodation suitable to their needs.
Role and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will work within the team and under the guidance of the supervisor at Howe Hill to develop and deliver an innovative programme of practical and personal development activities to enable a person to live independently.

- Provide appropriate emotional and physical support to young people accessing the service who are vulnerable and under a lot of stress.
- Understand the issues young people face when homeless.
- Work on your own initiative under the guidance of a manager.
- Demonstrate sympathy, firmness, and the ability to cope in stressful situations.
Requirements
- Experience of working with homeless people and in supported accommodation is essential.
- Understanding of the issues surrounding the client groups.
Working Conditions
- The service functions on a 24-hour basis, 365 days per year.
- You will be expected to be part of the shift rota patterns including some regular evenings and weekends.
- Ensure that the young people living in the service are properly motivated and supported.
Public Facing Role
- Applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2.
