Housing Safety Surveyor

Package: £48,000 - £52,000 + Excellent Benefits
Hybrid Working: Home, Office & Resident Visits (Oxfordshire)

Shape the Future of Resident Safety

An ambitious and forward-thinking housing provider is seeking a Housing Safety Surveyor to play a pivotal role in protecting residents and ensuring homes remain safe, healthy, and compliant.

This is a unique opportunity to join an organisation investing heavily in housing safety, compliance, and resident wellbeing. Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, you will lead on the identification, assessment, and management of housing-related risks across a diverse housing portfolio, with a particular focus on HHSRS, Damp & Mould, Awaab's Law compliance, and wider resident safety issues.

This is far more than a traditional Damp & Mould role. You will act as the organisation's specialist advisor on housing safety matters, influencing service delivery, driving compliance, and helping shape a proactive approach to risk management that puts residents first.

What You'll Be Doing

As Housing Safety Surveyor, you will be responsible for investigating and managing a wide range of housing safety risks, ensuring residents are protected while supporting the organisation's legal and regulatory obligations.

Your responsibilities will include:

Housing Safety Inspections & Risk Assessment

  • Undertaking detailed property inspections relating to Damp & Mould, HHSRS hazards, and wider housing safety concerns.
  • Assessing risks associated with fire safety, structural defects, excess cold, electrical hazards, hygiene issues, and falls risks.
  • Conducting HHSRS assessments and determining hazard categories.
  • Producing robust technical reports and recommendations to reduce risk and improve living conditions.

Awaab's Law & Damp & Mould Compliance

  • Managing housing safety cases in line with statutory response times.
  • Carrying out detailed investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Recommending and monitoring remedial works through to completion.
  • Ensuring accurate records and compliance evidence are maintained.
  • Supporting organisational readiness for evolving regulatory requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
