Summary

This is a 3-month contract position with a local authority, offering an umbrella pay rate of £40 per hour. The Housing Services Manager will report to the Head of Housing Management and oversee Housing Management Services. The role involves ensuring that housing services for tenants and leaseholders are customer-focused, high-performing, compliant, and efficient. Key responsibilities include managing tenancy, income collection, estate management, tenancy support, enforcement, tenant engagement, and service improvement. The position also supports strategic housing objectives and improvement programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire Housing Management teams to provide excellent customer service.
  • Manage recruitment, performance, disciplinary actions, appraisals, training, and staff development.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure staffing structures, skills, and development plans are effective.
  • Oversee employee health, safety, and wellbeing, including lone working arrangements.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in housing management, local authority housing, registered social housing, or a similar field.
  • At least five years of experience in managing and developing staff teams.
  • Proficient in tenancy management, estate management, housing income collection, and arrears recovery.

Qualifications

  • A-Level education or equivalent.
  • Degree in Housing, Public Administration, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Membership with the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Additional Information

  • Working hours are 37 hours per week, with 5 days on site.
  • A basic DBS check is required.
  • Payments are made bi-weekly.
