Job Summary:
Ealing Council have an exciting new opportunity as Housing Solutions Officer available on a full-time basis.
The Housing Solutions Officer role:
At Ealing, we aim to secure a safe and genuinely affordable home for every family and work to end homelessness and rough sleeping. As a Housing Solutions Officer, you will play a key role in preventing homelessness, supporting vulnerable residents, and delivering high-quality housing advice and solutions. You will join a service that is building on good work already undertaken to deliver significant improvements, helping to shape and enhance outcomes for residents across the borough.
As the Housing Solutions Officer you will:
- Play a key role in preventing homelessness and supporting residents in housing need by interviewing and advising customers, carrying out statutory homelessness assessments, and identifying practical housing solutions.
- Provide clear and realistic advice on eligibility for housing assistance, rehousing options and alternative housing pathways, while managing enquiries from housing register applicants and supporting them to understand their prospects for rehousing.
- Administer the Council's Housing Register and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including Part VI and Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

Our ideal Housing Solutions Officer will have the below skills and experience:
- Proven experience of interviewing and casework in a housing or related field.
- Thorough knowledge of the Housing Act 1996, Part VII, as amended and other relevant legislation, and associated case law.
- Experience of working as a member of a team in a busy customer services environment.
- Ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence through the medium of English.
