Housing Support Worker 📍 Location: QS, Rotherham 💷 Salary: £26,490 (pro rata) 🕒 Contract Type: Part-Time (32 hours per week)

Working Pattern:

  • 9:00-17:00
  • No weekend work
  • No evening work
  • 1 day off during the week

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Housing Support Worker to join our team at Queens Street. This is a great opportunity to support people to rebuild their independence while working a consistent evening and weekend pattern that leaves your days free.

About the Role

You’ll provide person-centred support to individuals with a range of needs, helping them develop the skills and confidence to move on to independent living, providing high quality housing management and support to vulnerable individuals.

Support & Engagement

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with residents
  • Deliver tailored, person-centred support plans
  • Manage a small caseload focused on successful move-on
  • Encourage meaningful use of time and independence
  • Work alongside external agencies to provide holistic support

Housing Management

  • Support residents to maintain and sustain their accommodation
  • Assist with housing applications, benefits, and tenancy processes
  • Liaise with local authority housing teams and partner agencies
  • Help residents maximise income and manage finances
  • Support move-on planning into more independent accommodation

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals (housing or similar setting)
  • Understanding of complex needs and trauma-informed approaches
  • Ability to engage and motivate people who may be hard to reach
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and housing processes (desirable)
  • Strong organisational and basic IT skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Essential Requirements:

  • A Target Housing Enhanced DBS Check or Update Service Check
  • Right to Work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship)
  • 2 Employment References
