About Us
Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing has a vision that “everyone has a home and the opportunity to live well”; that means working with partners to create sustainable and vibrant neighbourhoods where our customers want to live. With 57,000 homes and more than 120,000 residents and customers we have a real opportunity to make that vision a reality. Our people care, dare, and collaborate to ensure we achieve this People Powered Living.
This Role
Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Housing with Support Manager to join our Later Living team in the Midlands. Based at our Ruddington properties, this is a 30-hour per week permanent role, worked over five days, Monday to Friday.
As a Housing with Support Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the scheme, ensuring residents receive an excellent housing service while promoting independence, wellbeing, and quality of life. You will act as the primary point of contact for residents, responding to housing and support-related enquiries and building positive relationships with customers, contractors, partner agencies, and other stakeholders.
This role requires confidence in working independently, making informed decisions, and managing a varied workload. You may also be required to participate in an on-call rota, for which additional remuneration is provided where allocated.
Our Ruddington service is based within a community centre setting and supports residents living across several nearby Later Living schemes. Many of our residents value the reassurance of having a dedicated on-site presence to help them maintain their independence and remain connected within their community.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Need To Succeed
As the on-site Housing with Support Manager, you will be the first point of contact for residents and will play a pivotal role in the successful day-to-day management of the scheme. While you will be supported by a wider team, you will often work independently and will need to be confident in making decisions, managing priorities, and resolving issues effectively.
To be considered for this opportunity, your CV should demonstrate:
- Experience of supporting vulnerable older people, with an understanding of their housing, wellbeing, and independence needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions using your own initiative.
- A good understanding of housing management practices, including tenancy agreements, resident rights, and landlord responsibilities.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practice relating to Later Living and supported housing services.
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and building positive relationships with residents and stakeholders.
- Awareness of adult safeguarding responsibilities and confidence in recognising and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
- The ability to work independently while managing a varied workload and competing priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, colleagues, contractors, and external agencies.
This is an ideal opportunity for a housing professional who is passionate about supporting older people and creating safe, thriving communities where residents can live well and maintain their independence.
