This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with a requirement that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Defence Overlay Account Manager
Location: UK (Defence Sector Focus)
Job Type: Full Time
About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and commercially driven Defence Overlay Account Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional with a strong background in enterprise technology and defence sector engagement to play a key role in driving business growth.
As the Defence Overlay Account Manager, you will act as a trusted advisor to customers, building senior-level relationships and identifying opportunities to help solve complex business and technology challenges. Working closely with customers, partners and internal stakeholders, you will position innovative technology solutions that deliver meaningful business outcomes.
You will be part of a successful team looking to expand our footprint with our existing defence accounts, whilst working with our channel partners to drive new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic account plans across defence-focused customers.
- Identify, qualify and drive complex sales opportunities from initial engagement through to close.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers and executive stakeholders.
- Drive growth within existing accounts whilst identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal specialists, technical teams and partners to develop winning solutions.
- Manage a healthy sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting.
- Lead customer engagement activities, including account planning, business reviews and opportunity management.
- Position solutions across infrastructure, networking, software, cloud and services portfolios.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer challenges and align technology solutions to their requirements.
- Support territory planning and strategic growth initiatives within the defence sector.

About You:
- Proven experience within technology sales, account management or business development.
- Strong track record of delivering against revenue and growth targets.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and strategic customer relationships.
- Background selling enterprise IT solutions, including infrastructure, networking, software, cloud or services.
- Strong consultative selling and relationship management skills.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives.
- Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation and forecasting skills.
- Experience working collaboratively across matrix organisations and partner ecosystems.
- Self-motivated, resilient and results-oriented approach.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience selling into the UK Defence sector.
- Existing relationships within MOD, Defence Primes or associated organisations.
- Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, hybrid cloud, AI, networking or datacentre solutions.
- Experience working with channel partners and alliance relationships.
- Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience.
- Familiar using internal systems like Sales Force and Clari.
