HPLC Analyst
PE Global is currently recruiting for an experienced HPLC Analyst to join a leading scientific organisation based in Reading.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chemistry laboratory professional with strong practical HPLC experience to join an established analytical team supporting projects across the food, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.

The Role
As an HPLC Analyst, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of routine analytical testing, ensuring analytical work is completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with approved methods, quality standards and customer requirements. The role will also provide opportunities to develop experience with other analytical techniques, including LC-MS, where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine HPLC analysis in accordance with approved methods, procedures and validation protocols.
- Ensure analytical data is accurate, reliable and generated in accordance with required quality standards.
- Organise and manage assigned laboratory workload to ensure projects are completed effectively and results are delivered on time.
- Conduct chemical analysis in accordance with customer and project requirements.
- Operate laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate analytical records and documentation.
- Use laboratory systems including LIMS, ELN and Q-Pulse.
- Use relevant analytical software, with OpenLab experience highly desirable.
- Support the team with additional analytical techniques where required, including LC-MS.
- Provide training and support to colleagues in routine laboratory activities and methods where appropriate.
- Work across different laboratories where required to support business requirements.
- Follow all applicable SOPs, COSHH requirements, risk assessments and quality procedures.
- Work in accordance with GMP and UKAS requirements.

Requirements
- Degree or HNC in Chemistry or a relevant scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant laboratory experience.
- Practical chemistry laboratory experience is essential.
- Proven hands-on experience with HPLC is required.
- Experience working within a regulated laboratory environment.
- Good understanding of laboratory equipment and analytical procedures.
- Ability to perform chemical analysis accurately and follow established methods and written procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Well organised, self-motivated and able to manage multiple activities concurrently.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to meet customer and business requirements.
- Good working knowledge of standard MS Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Desirable Experience
- LC-MS experience.
- OpenLab software experience.
- Experience with other analytical techniques such as IC, GC, GC-MS, GC-FID or Wet Chemistry.
- Previous experience working to GMP and/or UKAS standards.
Important
This role is not aimed at fresh graduates. The successful candidate will need demonstrable, hands-on chemistry laboratory experience and practical HPLC experience, allowing them to contribute effectively from the outset.
