HR Administrator (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract - Maternity Cover)

Annual Salary: £34,000

Location: London
Job Type: Full-time, Fixed-Term Contract

We are seeking an HR Administrator for a 12-month maternity cover, starting from October. This role is crucial for managing our clients' casual workforce and supporting our HR team during a period of transition. The successful candidate will take over responsibilities from an existing team member who is stepping into an HR Advisor role temporarily.

Day-to-Day Of The Role

Casual Staff Administration:

  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes for casual employees.
  • Handle employee conduct and performance matters.
  • Respond to employee queries and manage recruitment administration.
  • Process up to 10 hires weekly during peak periods, including conducting interviews, right-to-work checks, and processing employment paperwork.

Timesheet Administration:

  • Oversee the management of approximately 400 timesheets per week.
  • Ensure accuracy in hours worked, sickness absences, holiday calculations, and potential overpayments.

General HR Administration:

  • Monitor and manage the HR inbox, respond to vacancy enquiries, and send job descriptions.
  • Process P45 requests, handle sick notes, and support general HR queries.

Payroll Liaison:

  • Collaborate closely with the Payroll department on matters relating to casual employees, including processing approved timesheets for payment and handling general payroll-related queries.

Employee Relations Support:

  • Provide administrative support for performance management, conduct issues, and absence management for casual staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as an HR Administrator.
  • Proficient in using HR systems.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high volumes of employee administration.
