HR Administrator

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time or Part-time
Salary: Up to £30,000 dependent on experience

Join Binnies as an HR Administrator

Binnies is delighted to be recruiting for an HR Administrator to join our friendly and supportive HR team.

Supporting a workforce of nearly 800 people across the UK, you’ll play an important role in helping us deliver an efficient, high-quality HR service and support our people throughout their employee journey.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience who is looking to develop a career in HR. Previous HR experience isn't essential — we're looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused, confident using Microsoft Office and enjoys working with people.

The role is available on a full-time or part-time basis, with flexible working options available, including the potential for a school-hours contract.

What You'll Be Doing

Working alongside our HR Generalist team, you'll provide day-to-day administrative support across a wide range of HR activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining accurate employee records and our online HR system.
  • Completing and maintaining Right to Work checks.
  • Preparing contractual change, promotion and other HR-related letters.
  • Auditing HR data and creating and running reports.
  • Supporting HR processes including flexible working, maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave.
  • Preparing payroll reports and supporting long service awards and our graduate promotion scheme.
  • Monitoring sickness documentation, sickness trends and sick pay entitlements, highlighting trigger points and approaching exhaustion of sick pay.
  • Responding to queries through the shared HR mailbox and providing appropriate support and guidance to employees.
  • Working closely with HR Generalists to manage workloads and allocate tasks.
  • Maintaining HR documentation, trackers and shared folders across Teams and our central drive.
  • Taking notes at meetings and providing general administrative support to the HR team as required.

What We're Looking For

We're not necessarily looking for someone who has worked in HR before. If you have previous administrative experience, strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn, we'd like to hear from you.

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly Teams, Word, Excel, OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • Good written communication skills and confidence preparing professional correspondence.
  • Confidence working with numbers and data.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
  • A proactive and flexible approach.
  • The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.

HR Experience Is Desirable But Not Essential.

Experience of handling confidential information, working within an HR team or supporting HR processes would be advantageous.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
