Location: Colchester, Essex (office-based)
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000
Contract: Permanent, full time
A full UK driving licence and access to your own car are essential
Our client is looking for an organised, detail-focused HR Administrator to join its small, hard-working HR team in Colchester. The role covers day-to-day HR administration, training coordination and payroll support across a multi-site business. The business genuinely invests in its people, with ongoing training, development and real opportunities for career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing employee lifecycle administration, from recruitment and onboarding through probation reviews and contract changes to leavers
- Preparing contracts, offer letters and other employment documents
- Carrying out and monitoring right-to-work checks
- Keeping employee records accurate on the HR system and in personnel files
- Collecting, validating and entering payroll data for weekly and monthly payrolls
- Supporting payroll reconciliation and audits
- Administering the Learning Management System and enrolling employees onto training
- Monitoring training compliance and flagging expiring qualifications and certificates
- Arranging refresher and external training with managers and training providers
- Responding to employee HR and payroll queries
- Producing HR reports and management information
- Handling confidential information in line with GDPR

About You:
- 1 to 2 years' experience in an HR administration role
- A working knowledge of payroll is an advantage
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
- Professional, approachable and discreet
- Experience in a multi-site environment is desirable
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own car are essential
