Pay Rate

Hourly pay rate £13.50 - £15.00 per hour depending on experience.

Start Time

7.00am - 17.10pm Monday-Thursday for full-time hours.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established manufacturing business based in Maryport, is seeking an experienced and motivated HR Administrator to support the HR Manager within a busy and fast-paced environment. The company is open to considering candidates looking for either part-time or full-time hours.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and people-focused individual who enjoys working in a varied HR role and is passionate about delivering a positive employee experience. You will play a key role in supporting both associates and managers, ensuring HR processes are delivered efficiently, professionally, and in line with company policies and employment legislation.

The Role

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will provide dedicated HR administrative and operational support to ensure the effective delivery of people processes across the site. Acting as a key point of contact for associates and managers, you will provide guidance and support whilst promoting a consistent, compliant, and people-focused approach to HR practices.

Working closely with all departments, you will help support a highly engaged workforce by building strong relationships and encouraging a culture of open communication. You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely HR administration, maintaining high standards and ensuring all processes are completed efficiently.

You will also play an important role in supporting employee engagement initiatives, helping to create an inclusive environment where employees feel valued, respected, and motivated. Supporting both shop floor and office teams, you will ensure HR processes are visible, accessible, and effectively embedded across the business.

Using your excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, you will help maintain robust HR systems, support compliance activities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of people practices across the site.

You will lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality whilst helping to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the HR agenda in line with guidance from the HR Manager, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensure the fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures, supporting disciplinary, grievance, and absence management processes.
  • Act as a first point of contact for HR queries, providing clear, timely, and consistent guidance to employees and managers.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, assisting with the coordination and delivery of activities that promote morale, inclusion, and retention.
  • Promote a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing, supporting Occupational Health processes and absence management procedures.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and systems, ensuring compliance with GDPR and company policies.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities, including coordinating interviews, preparing documentation, and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Assist with compliance and audit requirements by maintaining accurate and up-to-date HR documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with managers across all functions, providing support on people-related matters.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, communication, and overall employee experience.
  • Coordinate Occupational Health administration, including booking appointments, tracking referrals, and monitoring recommendations.
  • Produce HR reports and data when required, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Previous HR administration experience, ideally within a manufacturing, production, or operational environment.
  • A genuine passion for people and employee experience.
  • Experience supporting HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and absence management.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with employees and managers at all levels.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proactive and adaptable approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience of Workday would be advantageous.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering a high-quality HR service.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality, compliance, policies, and employment legislation.
  • Ability to work independently whilst also contributing effectively as part of a team.
