HR Benefits Administrator

BAM UK & Ireland’s Infrastructure segment is currently seeking an experienced HR Benefits Administrator to join our HR team at our office in Farnborough. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Your Team

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
  • Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days in the Farnborough office, 2 days working from home

Making Possible

As an HR Benefits Administrator, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Invoice and report reconciliation – ensuring accuracy between payroll and provider reports
  • Managing and responding to queries from the shared HR inbox
  • Administration of the Benifex benefits system (e.g. approving life events, enrolling in pension schemes, updating employee data)
  • Regular meetings with the Benifex supplier, third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Maintaining accurate records and spreadsheets, including tax compliance, career breaks, long-term sickness, and term-time employees
  • Managing third-party systems such as Reward Gateway, Irish Life, and EdenRed (childcare vouchers)
  • Using internal HR systems such as BAM People (SuccessFactors)
  • Escalating complex queries to appropriate departments or vendors
  • Investigating and resolving benefits system breaches, such as National Minimum Wage issues
  • Collaborating with the Compensation and Benefits team to keep the benefits system content and policies current
  • Managing the leavers process for outstanding benefit cost recovery
  • Supporting with ad hoc tasks, reporting, and data analysis as needed
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance benefits processes, controls and employee experience.

What do you bring to the role?

Essential:

  • Experience in benefits administration
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills (manual calculations, data analysis, large volumes of data)
  • Problem-solving ability, investigating and resolving issues particularly with system and inbox queries
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work to payroll cut-off dates
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage a varied workload and competing priorities
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Takes ownership of their work and actively identifies opportunities to improve processes
  • Experience reconciling data across multiple systems and identifying discrepancies

Desirable:

  • Experience uploading and manipulating large datasets in Excel
  • Familiarity with or experience of payroll processes
  • Proficiency with Excel functions, especially VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and data reconciliation
  • Experience with HR, payroll or benefits systems (preferably within a large organisation)
  • Familiarity with P11D processing and benefits-related tax implications
  • Experience working with flexible benefits platforms
  • Knowledge of benefits administration policies
