This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment and has a strong background in Employee Relations, case management, and advising managers through challenging people matters.
As a trusted HR partner, you will play a critical role in supporting managers across the business by providing pragmatic, commercially focused HR advice, ensuring fair and consistent application of employment policies, and managing a high volume of complex employee relations cases from inception through to resolution.

We are seeking an experienced HR professional who is passionate about Employee Relations and thrives on resolving complex people issues. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing a substantial caseload in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of quality, compliance, and stakeholder service.
You will be a resilient, commercially minded HR practitioner who can confidently navigate sensitive and challenging situations, influence stakeholders at all levels, and deliver pragmatic, people-focused solutions that support both business objectives and employee experience.
Hybrid working applies, with a blend of home and office working depending on business requirements.
Your Role
As a Workplace Solutions Specialist, you will:
- Act as the primary HR advisor on a wide range of Employee Relations matters, providing expert guidance and coaching to managers.
- Independently manage a significant volume of complex ER cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence, misconduct, performance management, restructuring, and workplace conflict matters.
- Lead end-to-end case management, ensuring timely resolution, effective risk management, and adherence to company policies and employment legislation.
- Support and advise managers through formal disciplinary and grievance investigations, hearings, appeals, and outcome recommendations.
- Provide expert guidance on performance management processes, supporting managers in addressing underperformance and delivering sustainable performance improvement outcomes.
- Coach and upskill leaders in managing employee relations issues confidently and effectively, promoting early intervention and informal resolution where appropriate.
- Partner with HR Business Partners to deliver strategic people initiatives and support organisational change programmes.
- Analyse people data, employee relations trends, absence metrics, and case management insights to identify risks and recommend proactive solutions.
- Develop and deliver people management training on key HR topics including performance management, absence management, disciplinary processes, investigations, and employment law.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple business areas, acting as a trusted advisor on complex people challenges.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities that enhance HR service delivery, manager capability, and employee experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
