HR Advisor (Maternity Cover)

Fixed Term Contract - Initial 3 Months (with potential to extend up to 4 months)

Ideally starting 9 November 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.

We're looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our friendly and supportive HR team on a maternity cover contract.

This role has a strong employee relations focus. You'll manage a varied caseload including absence, disciplinary, grievance and performance matters, providing practical, people-focused advice to managers and supporting them through processes from start to finish.

Alongside casework, you'll contribute to day-to-day HR activity, including responding to queries, supporting recruitment, payroll processes and general employee lifecycle administration.

Due to the short-term nature of the contract, we're looking for someone who can quickly build relationships, pick up an active caseload and make an immediate contribution to the team.

Working Pattern

Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm

1 hour unpaid break.

About You

You'll be:

  • An experienced HR Advisor with a strong employee relations background.
  • Confident managing disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance cases.
  • Able to work independently while managing your own caseload.
  • Comfortable balancing employee relations work with wider HR activity.
  • Approachable, pragmatic and focused on finding practical solutions.
  • A collaborative team player who values sharing knowledge and continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
