Location: Swindon, Wiltshire

Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Employment Type: Permanent

Salary: A GBP 34,000


Hawk3 Talent Solutions, acting as an Employment Business, are currently recruiting for an HR Advisor to join our client's small HR team.

In this role, you will be supporting approximately 150 employees. This is a hands-on, varied generalist HR role offering excellent visibility and the opportunity to take real ownership from day one. You'll work closely with managers and employees across the business and report directly to the UK Group HR Manager.

The Role

As HR Advisor, you'll provide day-to-day HR support across the business, with responsibilities spanning employee relations, payroll coordination, HR administration, and employee engagement.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Collating and processing monthly payroll information and liaising with the outsourced payroll provider to resolve queries.
  • Supporting and coaching managers through disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Taking the lead on employee engagement activities and initiatives designed to create a positive workplace culture.
  • Managing day-to-day HR administration, including employee records, onboarding, benefits, and training coordination.
  • Providing practical advice and guidance to managers on HR policies, absence management, and employee relations matters.
  • Helping to identify opportunities to improve HR processes and ways of working.

About You

You'll be joining a small, close-knit HR team, so this is a highly visible role where building strong relationships throughout the business is key.

We're Looking For Someone Who Is

  • Friendly, approachable, and confident communicating with people at all levels.
  • Comfortable building relationships across a diverse workforce, from operational teams through to senior management.
  • Personable and engaging, with a positive and proactive approach.
  • Highly organised and able to remain calm when managing competing priorities, deadlines, and live employee relations cases.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with a genuine interest in improving processes and the employee experience.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or logistics environment would be advantageous.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience working as an HR Advisor, HR Generalist, or in a similar HR role, with experience across both HR administration and advisory responsibilities.
  • Demonstrable experience managing or supporting disciplinary and grievance processes and coaching managers through these situations.
  • Good knowledge of the ACAS Code of Practice.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience with payroll administration or working alongside an outsourced payroll provider.
  • Experience developing or delivering employee engagement initiatives.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification, or currently working towards it.
  • Experience using HR systems such as Access or PeopleHR.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
