HR Advisor

Reports to: Business & Operations Director Department: HR Location: Neasden Head Office Contract: Full-time, hybrid (1 day from home per week)


About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and people-focused HR Advisor to join our organisation in a broad role that offers opportunities for growth and progression.

Working closely with the Business & Operations Director and an external HR Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting:

  • Senior leaders
  • Managers
  • Employees
  • People, practices, and culture

This role is ideal for a CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) HR professional who:

  • Enjoys building strong relationships
  • Thrives as a trusted point of contact for staff
  • Contributes across a range of HR activities

While the role is at Advisor level, we are looking for someone with:

  • The capability, ambition, and leadership potential to transition into a more senior HR advisor position over time.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate closely with the Business & Operations Director and External HR Consultant
  • Assist in developing and implementing HR initiatives aligned with business goals
  • Guide senior leaders and managers on people-related matters
  • Actively contribute to:
    • Identifying training needs
    • Designing and delivering training programs
    • Meeting development objectives across the organisation

Employee & Workforce Support

  • Manage employee training, including:
    • Setting and adhering to training plans
    • Coordinating time off and post-training follow-ups
  • Support workforce planning by leveraging the Business & Operations Director to:
    • Identify required skills and resources
    • Liaise on recruitment decisions
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures remain:
    • Up-to-date
    • Aligned with operational and regulatory obligations
  • Lead and escalate employee relations issues with:
    • The Business & Operations Director
    • The HR Consultant

Internal Communications & System Excellence

  • Strengthen internal communication channels, including:
    • Company updates
    • People development announcements
    • Legislative changes
  • Continuously identify and seize opportunities to:
    • Improve HR Information Systems (HRIS) functionality
    • Support the implementation of new feature enhancements

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees on:
    • All HR-related and employee relations queries
  • Provide daily HR support including:
    • Employment documentation (contracts, letters, correspondence)
    • General people and operational advisories
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records for:
    • Employee files
    • HR processes
    • Payroll data (in alignment with payroll team)
  • Coordinate the HRIS to ensure:
    • Data integrity
    • Timely updates

Talent & Structural Support

  • Work closely with the Talent Business Partner on:
    • Recruitment activities (interviews, hiring process optimization)
    • Onboarding processes, including:
      • Ensuring probation terms are adhered to
  • Handle offboarding processes:
    • From managerial coordination to integrating HR, IT, and the Business & Operations Director
  • Maintain compliance and records for:
    • Risk assessments
    • First aid
    • Fire safety standards

Requirements & Attributes

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum qualification: CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent)
  • Working experience: 3+ years in a small/medium-sized organisation in a similar HR role
  • Strong professional mindset focused on:
    • Continuous growth
    • Taking on greater accountability over time

Technical Skills

  • Comprehensive employment legislation and HR best practice knowledge
  • Expertise with:
    • HR Information Systems (HRIS)
    • Microsoft 365 (including SharePoint)
  • Excellent proficiency in data management and compliance protocol

  • Interpersonal & relationship-building skills: Capable of establishing trust at all organisational levels
  • Self-directed and proactive, with the ability to:
    • Work independently with business strategy
    • Seek guidance when necessary
