We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor
We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join a busy charity People team, initially for a 6 month period. Following this, there is a strong possibility of a longer term role if this is what you are looking for, which includes a generous pension and benefits.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys providing practical advice, managing employee relations cases and supporting managers across a wide range of people matters.
The Role
As HR Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for managers and employees, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation. You will manage your own caseload and work closely with stakeholders to deliver a professional and responsive HR service.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise managers on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence management cases.
- Support managers with investigations, formal meetings and hearings.
- Provide guidance on employment policies, procedures and best practice.
- Assist with sickness absence management and workplace adjustments.
- Build strong relationships with managers, employees and trade union representatives.
- Produce accurate HR documentation, reports and correspondence.
- Support wider HR projects and people initiatives as required.
- Deliver coaching and guidance to managers on people-related matters.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a generalist HR Advisor position in a charity or public sector orgabisation
- Strong employee relations experience.
- A good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience is desirable.

What's on Offer?

- Salary from £32,000 to £39,000 depending on experience
