An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Advisor to join one of the UK's leading civil engineering and surfacing contractors. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a growing organisation that places its people at the heart of its success, offering genuine career development within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Our client is a well-established national contractor delivering infrastructure and surfacing projects across the UK. With continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their HR team by appointing an experienced HR Advisor to provide proactive support across the employee lifecycle while partnering with managers across the business.

HR Advisor Job Overview
- Previous experience in a HR Advisor or similar generalist HR position.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent practical HR experience.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting managers with employee relations cases.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confident working in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to sites when required.
HR Advisor Job Requirements
- Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
- Manage employee lifecycle administration, including onboarding, contractual changes and leavers.
- Support employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance issues.
- Produce HR reports and analyse data relating to absence, turnover and employee engagement.
- Assist with recruitment activities including advertising vacancies, screening applicants and coordinating interviews.
- Support HR projects and employee engagement initiatives across the business.
- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures in line with current legislation.
- Deliver a high standard of HR administration and maintain accurate employee records.
- Work closely with the wider HR and Learning & Development teams to support training initiatives.
