About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive People & Culture Advisor to join our team in Cullompton. This role is pivotal in supporting our HR department by providing first-line advice and guidance to managers and employees on a wide range of people-related matters. The successful candidate will work closely with the People & Culture Business Team to deliver strategic HR support, ensuring that our policies and procedures are effectively communicated and implemented. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for employee relations and HR best practices to contribute to the ongoing success and growth of Gregory Distribution Ltd.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Level 3 CIPD qualification or equivalent, demonstrating a solid foundation in HR principles and practices. A minimum of two years of relevant experience within a human resources environment is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook, is required to manage data and communicate effectively. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to build trust and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Additionally, candidates should exhibit effective time management skills, resilience, and a high level of confidentiality to handle sensitive information appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Provide initial professional advice and guidance to managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues.
  • Support managers with absence management, including handling AWOL cases, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Signpost employees to other People & Culture services such as Talent Acquisition, People Services Admin, Learning and Development, and Payroll.
  • Maintain and update the People & Culture intranet page to ensure relevant information is accessible and current.
  • Assist in investigations and fact-finding activities related to employee concerns or disputes.
  • Work collaboratively with other HR colleagues to ensure timely and professional delivery of HR services.
  • Escalate complex cases to People & Culture Business Partners when necessary.
  • Support managers in managing both long-term and short-term absence cases, including occupational health referrals where applicable.
  • Assist with the communication and implementation of HR policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Contribute to HR projects such as redundancy processes, TUPE activities, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Prepare and analyze HR Management Information (MI) reports to support decision-making.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR processes and systems.
  • Ensure document and policy version control to maintain consistency and compliance.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the business to foster effective communication and collaboration.
  • Support the Learning and Development team in upskilling managers in HR and People & Culture processes.

Gregory offers a competitive salary range of £28,000 to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. The role provides standard working hours from Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00.
