HR Advisor

Wellingborough - Hybrid Working

We are looking for a confident and proactive HR Advisor to join our HR & Payroll team. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide advice and guidance on employee relations matters, help shape people practices, and support managers across the business in delivering high-quality employment advice.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a first line of support for a broad range of HR matters, providing impartial advice and guidance to ensure our policies and procedures are applied consistently and in accordance with employment law and best practice.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first line of support in HR, providing advice and support for employee relations issues, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant advice and support.
  • Ensuring all HR processes operate effectively in compliance with organisation policy and legislative requirements.
  • Supporting with HR projects across the organisation.
  • Working with the Payroll & Pensions Officer to ensure that an effective payroll service is provided, including but not limited to, providing payroll information in a timely manner and maintaining the HR system.
  • Supporting with payroll and HR compliance, including DBS checks, GDPR, and reporting to regulatory bodies.
  • Supporting the recruitment of new employees, including the on-boarding process and completion of HR inductions.
  • Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures and guidance.
  • Playing an active role in promoting Equality, Diversity & Inclusion across the organisation.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is confident providing practical HR advice and who can build positive relationships with people at all levels of the organisation.

You will have:

  • CIPD Level 5 in HR Management (or equivalent) or demonstrable experience in an HR Advisor or similar role.
  • Experience of supporting and managing a broad range of HR issues such as grievances, disciplinaries, absence management, occupational health referrals and capability.
  • Experience of working with and maintaining accurate data within HR and recruitment systems.
  • A strong understanding of employment legislation and its practical application in the workplace.
  • Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
