Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic People & Culture Advisor to join our team. You will be responsible for providing first line support to our managers and employees. Supporting our People and Culture Business Team to deliver strategic, professional advice and guidance to our group businesses on all employee relations matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide initial first-line professional advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and employee relations matters.
  • Support managers with absence management, Absent With Out Leave (AWOL), disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • Signpost and transfer employees to other People Culture services where appropriate (ie Talent, People Services Admin, Learning and Development & Payroll, etc).
  • Update and maintain our People & Culture intranet page.
  • Assist with investigations and fact-finding activities as required.
  • Have a proactive and collaborative approach, working with other People & Culture colleagues to ensure timely and professional delivery. Escalating complex cases to the People and Culture Business Partners where appropriate.
  • Support managers in managing long-term and short-term absence cases.
  • Assist with occupational health referrals where required.
  • Support the implementation and communication of People & Culture policies and procedures.
  • Support wider People & Culture initiatives and project, including redundancy, consulted changes and TUPE activities.
  • Production of HR Management Information.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of People & Culture processes and systems.
  • Responsibility for document/version control for policies & procedures.
  • Communication with key stakeholders.
  • Support and work with the Learning and Development team to upskill line managers in People & Culture processes.

Requirements

  • Level 3 CIPD and a minimum of 2 years previous experience in Human Resources.
  • Effective Time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A strong respect for confidentiality.
  • Resilience to provide robust guidance and escalation when required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
