HICA HR Advisor Opportunity

HICA is very proud to announce that we have a fantastic opportunity to join our experienced and established HR Department.

In this newly created role, we are seeking to recruit an additional HR Advisor as we look forward to the future with the growth of our team, to strengthen our advisory capacity and meet the operational needs of our services.

Finding the right person is as important to us as finding the right skill set. Therefore, we are welcoming applications from candidates with proven experience in an advisory role or an HR Officer who possesses a good foundation in HR, eager to take the next step in their career.

Reporting to our HR Business Partner and with support from the wider team, the ideal candidate will be someone who can achieve a balance between providing an efficient reactive operational HR service, working proactively to coach others and tackle the root-causes of people-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting and guiding managers on a range of employee relations issues by giving advice, supporting both formal and informal meetings, processing template and bespoke letters, and monitoring progression of live cases via a case management log.
  • Making referrals to specialists where required in respect of employee health / absence issues.
  • Providing an advisory service on a range of employment life cycle matters such as from holiday calculations and Working Time Regulations to contractual issues.
  • Working collaboratively with the local recruitment team to identify the needs of your services and supporting recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Recognising recurring issues / trends and taking ownership to identify the root-cause(s) and implement agreed solutions.
  • Ongoing coaching and training of managers in relation to HR policy and best practice.
  • Supporting the HR Business Partner with change management exercises across the group e.g. shift pattern reviews, restructures.
  • Supporting with policy and process reviews; making updates to policies and implementing changes to internal processes / practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
