HR Advisor

Location: Merthyr Tydfil

About the Role

Yolk Recruitment is delighted to be working exclusively with one of our clients, a leading international food manufacturing business, who are looking to appoint an experienced HR Advisor to join their established and hard-working team in Merthyr Tydfil.

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, operational environment and wants to play a key role in supporting both employees and the wider business.

Working closely with the HR Manager and key stakeholders across the site, you will provide expert HR advice and support throughout the employee lifecycle. Alongside managing day-to-day HR activity, you will contribute to the ongoing development of the HR function and support wider strategic and continuous improvement projects.

The successful candidate will be proactive, commercially aware and comfortable working within a production-focused environment where priorities can change quickly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle.
  • Support managers with employee relations matters, including disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Manage and advise on absence and performance management.
  • Support employee consultations, including redundancy processes and changes to terms and conditions.
  • Work closely with the HR Manager to deliver the site HR strategy.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide professional and confidential HR advice to employees and managers at all levels.
  • Contribute to site and wider group HR projects and change initiatives.
  • Ensure HR processes are delivered in line with company policies, employment legislation and best practice.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.

About You

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor who is confident operating within a busy, people-focused environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD qualification.
  • Previous experience working in an HR Advisor or similar HR role.
  • A proactive and operationally focused approach to HR.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations and HR processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent attention to detail, including strong proofreading and editing skills.
  • A sound understanding of HR compliance and best practice.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
  • Resilience and a positive, can-do attitude when working in a changing environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
  • Strong influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly across Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and SharePoint, alongside experience of HR systems/HRIS.
  • A strong team-player mentality.
