HR Adviser
12-Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Hybrid Working
£30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Start Date: November 2026 (to allow for a comprehensive handover)
About The Role
I am seeking an experienced HR Adviser to join my client on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional who enjoys partnering with managers, supporting employees, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
Reporting into the HR function, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality people service across the business. You'll provide practical advice and guidance throughout the employee lifecycle, support employee relations matters, ensure compliance with employment legislation, and contribute to ongoing HR projects and process improvements.
This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, providing a balance between home and office-based working.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a range of Employee Relations (ER) cases, providing advice and support to managers.
- Supporting HR administration processes and maintaining employee records.
- Producing HR reports and management information (MI).
- Reviewing and maintaining HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice.
- Supporting recruitment activities and onboarding processes.
- Assisting with payroll administration and related queries.
- Supporting HR projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Providing guidance and support to managers and employees on HR matters across the employee lifecycle.
- Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and people-focused culture.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working within a generalist HR Advisory role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience managing Employee Relations cases.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to change.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy while applying policy consistently.
- Experience using HR Information Systems (HRIS).
- A CIPD qualification or equivalent.
