Role: HR Advisor - 6-Month FTC

Location: London (Hybrid)

Package: £40,000 - £50,000

Middlemore have partnered with a well-established insurance business, who are seeking an HR Advisor on a 6-month fixed-term contract to add immediate capacity to their HR function. This hands-on HR Advisor role is ideal for someone ready to step up from pure administration, able to use their judgement and take ownership across advisory, coordination and data.

The opportunity

You will provide practical HR advice and support to managers and employees, help coordinate activity across the HR team, and take genuine ownership of HR data, reporting and continuous improvement. The role is there to create bandwidth for the Head of HR and HRBPs, picking up a broad inbox of queries, preparing communications, and anticipating what will be needed ahead of key people discussions (restructures, reward cycles, ER cases, etc.).

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR advisory support to managers and employees on policy, process and employment law matters.
  • Support employee relations activity (disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, performance, flexible working) and ensure consistent application of policies.
  • Coordinate across the HR team: manage approvals, organise activity and ensure actions don’t get lost across competing priorities.
  • Own HR data and reporting: extract, cleanse, consolidate and validate data from multiple sources/systems; produce accurate MI, dashboards and executive summaries.
  • Analyse workforce metrics (headcount, turnover, absence, diversity, recruitment, performance, engagement) and translate findings into insights and recommendations.
  • Support HR projects including process improvement, HRIS enhancements, workforce planning, engagement, policy reviews and DEI initiatives.
  • Provide close support around the year-end Reward process and broader people discussions, proactively pulling together JDs, contracts, notice periods and employee information.
  • Support core HR operations: recruitment, onboarding, probation reviews, lifecycle admin, GDPR-compliant record-keeping and liaison with payroll.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
