HR Advisor - Sherburn-in-Elmet

Are you looking for a role where you can influence culture, engagement, and performance across a large, complex operation?

Here at GXO, we're recruiting for a HR Advisor to join our Sherburn-in-Elmet operation. This is a full-time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00, where you'll provide a proactive and commercially focused HR service, supporting managers and colleagues across a large shared-user logistics operation.

Working closely with the HR Manager, you'll help deliver the site People Plan, support employee engagement initiatives, and ensure best practice HR support is provided across all areas of the employee lifecycle.

We’re looking to offer a salary of £34,000 and 33 days annual leave. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Provide expert HR guidance and support to managers on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence management cases, ensuring a consistent and legally compliant approach
  • Coach and develop managers at all levels, building capability and confidence in handling people-related matters while promoting best practice HR management
  • Manage key employee lifecycle activities, including starters, leavers, probation reviews, recruitment support, and onboarding processes
  • Support the delivery of employee engagement, wellbeing, diversity, inclusion, and business-wide people initiatives that enhance colleague experience and retention
  • Maintain compliance with employment legislation, HR policies, and audit requirements while supporting HR projects and the wider delivery of the site People Plan.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Previous experience in a HR Advisor or HR Generalist role within a fast-paced operational, warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Employment Law and employee relations processes, with experience managing a range of ER cases
  • Proven ability to coach, challenge, and influence managers while building strong working relationships across all levels of the business
  • Experience supporting employee engagement initiatives, recruitment activities, and the full employee lifecycle
  • Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with excellent attention to detail and confidence using Microsoft Office applications
