About The Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced HR Advisor to join our team in Barrow-in-Furness, supporting the dynamic Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing comprehensive HR advice, managing HR processes, and implementing policies to ensure smooth operational flow across all business areas. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a challenging and rewarding industry, contributing to strategic HR initiatives and delivering a high-quality service to employees and management alike. The HR Advisor will serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring timely and effective resolution of HR-related issues, and supporting the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant HR qualification or equivalent experience in Human Resources. A strong understanding of HR policies, employment legislation, and best practices is essential. Previous experience working within the Oil & Gas industry or a similar sector is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively liaise with employees at all levels. The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism is crucial. Additionally, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are important attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee queries via the HR email inbox, providing accurate and timely advice.
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist in the administration of employee records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to promote best practices.
  • Support performance management processes, including appraisals and development plans.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance to managers and staff on employment law, disciplinary procedures, and grievance handling.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant employment legislation and industry trends to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with payroll administration and benefits management as required.
  • Support training and development activities to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
